About Montessori

What is Montessori?

Montessori is an education philosophy and practice that fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development, with a goal of nurturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect (American Montessori Society).

What does an elementary Montessori education look like?

Many parents who are familiar with Montessori for preschool, or primary, might not be aware that Montessori can also be an exceptional choice for the elementary years. As at all Montessori levels, the Montessori Elementary program is based on the belief that children learn best through movement and work with their hands, and provides cognitive, social, and emotional support to help them reach their full potential.
